85 Clerk’s Report

 Update

Since Cllr Trollope-Bellew asked LCC to move the cycle rack we have not received any further update. The Clerks agreed to chase this before the next meeting

As of 29 October no update has been received from LCC regarding the possibility of 30mph speed limit being extended westward along Stamford Rd or alternative gateway measures towards the entrance to the town. The Clerks agreed to chase this before the next meeting.

Background information:- Cllr Trollope-Bellew is supportive and will see what can be done. Gateway type measures could be undertaken by the Town Council as long as a highway licence is obtained (£40). Licence would ask for details of measures/types of material used/map of site etc. If approved measures would be signed off by both parties and then it would be the Town Councils responsibility to look after them as an asset. Cllr Trollope-Bellew will enquire further.

The Deputy Clerk has contacted LCC Councillor for an update regarding the corner of Northfields Roads and the need for urgent review of the grip surface. Cllr Trollope-Bellew has also expressed concerns and will take the matter further. A further response is awaited. The Clerks agreed to chase this before the next meeting.

Following October’s Full Council meeting it was agreed to forward the Council’s response to the Government White Paper on Planning for the Future. This was sent on 21 October 2020.
