Market Deeping Town Council – Amenities and Open Spaces Committee
Minutes of a meeting held on Wednesday 12th March 2025 at 7.00 pm held in the Town Hall Chambers, Market Deeping. Cllr Broughton presided over Cllr Mrs D Jones, Cllr Ms Jayne Reed, Cllr Mrs Jean Sked, Cllr Mrs Pam Steel also present was the Clerk.
01. Chairman’s Welcome and Introductions
Cllr. Broughton welcomed members to the meeting.
02. To note apologies and accept valid reason for Absence
Apologies for Absence, received from Cllr Dick Hughes, Cllr Xan Collins and Cllr Paul Hanson.
03. Declarations of Interest under the Localism Act 2011
There were no Declarations of Interest.
04. Minutes of a previous AOS meeting held on the 15th January 2025
It was RESOLVED unanimously to accept the minutes of the meeting as a true and accurate record of the meeting. The Chairman signed the minutes.
05. Clerk’s report and update on work of the Park-Keepers
Members had received a copy of the report prior to the meeting.

John Eve field
- Oak Grove/Cemetery pathway, work has commenced to improve the surface of this pathway and remains on-going.

Town Centre
- The town centre sponsored planter will be up for renewal in June 2025.
|

Clerk’s report
- Continuing to liaise with SKDC regarding Cherry Tree Park.
- The removal of deadwood and two trees (with approval) has been conducted in the Glebe Field.
- Stock check has been completed.
- An old bin located in Welland Gardens has been converted to a planter.
- The defibrillator located on the John Eve Field is now connected to The Circuit.
- A new cabinet which will house a Bleed Kit has been received and this will be installed next to the existing Defibrillator located near the Public Toilets.
- An internal document for checking and assessing play equipment will be updated (On-going)
- SKDC have commenced the plating of replacement trees on Tattershall Drive, and it is expected that they will also plant in Fraser Close.

07. Omega
The Omega report had been circulated ahead of the meeting. The Chairman asked members if they had any questions, there were none.
08. Cherry Tree Park – Update
South Kesteven District Council have advised that they are in a position to progress to the next stages of transfer, and will continue to liaise with this council.
Some vandalism occurred to two newly planted Pear and Apple trees, these have now been re-planted and it is hoped that they will survive.
09. Green carpet – vandalism John Eve Field
Members discussed and the Clerk was instructed to contact a supplier for the repairs.
10. For members to consider and discuss any points raised in the Open session.
There were none.
11. To consider items for inclusion on the agenda for the next meeting of Amenities and Open Spaces committee, to be held in the Town Hall Chambers on Wednesday 14th May 2025.
