TOWN HALL AND CEMETERY COMMITTEE
Minutes of the meeting of Market Deeping Town Council’s Town Hall and Cemetery Committee held on Wednesday 14th December 2022 at 6.45 pm at the Town Hall, Market Deeping. Cllr Miss Collins presided over Cllr Broughton, Cllr Lester and Cllr Mrs Redshaw. The Clerk was also in attendance.
43. Chair’s Welcome
Cllr Miss Collins welcomed members to the meeting.
44. Apologies for absence
Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Shelton.
45. To receive declarations of interest under the Localism Act 2011
There were no declarations of interest.
46. Minutes from meeting held on Wednesday 7th September 2022
It was RESOLVED unanimously to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as a true and accurate record. The Chair signed the minutes.
47. Clerk’s report
The Clerk informed the members of the following:

48. Update on work activity taking place in the cemeteries (old & new)
• Ongoing general garden maintenance, cemetery looking tidy.
49. Correspondence received up to 14th December 2022
There was no correspondence.
50. Finances: Omega reports: Review of budget/expenditure/income
The Clerk had presented a copy of the Omega report to all members prior to the meeting. Cllr Miss Collins asked if there were any questions and there were none.
a) For members to consider the Precept for 2023/24
It was RESOLVED to accept the precepted figures for 2023/24 of:
Town Hall - £10,487 and
Cemetery – £19,045
51. Chairman’s Town Hall Report
Cllr Miss Collins noted the comments in the Clerk’s report.
52. For members to consider the use of the Chambers as a warm hub – referred from FC
This has been superseded as a warm hub has been established in The Green School which has been supported by a £700 grant for Market Deeping Town Council.
53. For members to consider the quotations received for the replacement security hard-drive in the Clerk’s office
The Deputy Clerk had approached 3 Companies for quotes. The 2 quotes obtained were reviewed. It was RESOLVED to accept the cheaper of the two quotes and the Clerks were instructed to obtain a replacement hard drive.
54. Chairman’s Cemetery Report
Cllr Miss Collins thanked the work carried out by the park-keepers and cemetery keeper for their continuous hard work in maintaining the cemetery.
55. For members to consider and discuss any points raised in the Open Session.
There were none.
56. To consider items for inclusion on the agenda for the next meeting of Town Hall and Cemetery Committee
• Repairs to the Town Hall
Cllr Miss Collins thanked everyone for their attendance and closed the meeting at 7.00 pm. The next meeting of the Town Hall and Cemetery meeting will be held on Wednesday 4th January 2023.
